Buddy Chat is a co-designed children’s communication project which aims to raise awareness of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) among children in mainstream schools in the six most common communication differences. See the promo video here.
- Why do this course
- System Requirements
- Children with SLCNs in mainstream settings will be accepted, supported and included. It will also educate children in understanding, accepting and enabling them with the tools used in the Buddy Chat High Five to be able to encourage a communication rich environment.
- To reduce the risk of social exclusion and promote better understanding and awareness for children who have SLCN among their peers and provide children with simple, practical communication skills they can use at school, in the playground and while out and about.
- Buddy Chat is designed to be used for children in Y4 and above. It’s quick and easy to use over approximately two 40-minute lessons. To learn more about how to use Buddy Chat in your classroom, please download the ‘How to Guide’ before you begin.
This course will work on PC, laptop, tablet or mobile. It works best using an up-to-date version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari or Mozilla Firefox. For older versions of Internet Explorer, you may need to allow cookies in order to access the content.
